I began grinding on a blank piece of steel to get the hang of making a consistent grind.
I start with the main beveled edge. The grinder is ideal for this task because the flat backing behind the belt makes for a smooth consistent surface.
The piece I was using was actually a blank that was already in the shop that someone cutout. I was displeased with my work so I think I may start fresh and come back to this one later.
The second try was a fresh pice of steel that I mad a very specific plan for.
I cut out the shape of it on the bandsaw and ground down the edges.
I once again, ground in a bevel.
Here it is after a bit more polishing and grinding.
